WoodTryst — custom cabinets, furniture, refinishing

Made in Memphis

The craft of cabinetry &
the chemistry of finish

Custom cabinetry and cabinet transformations finished in catalyzed conversion varnish — the finish factories use. Never paint.

The difference

Paint sits on the surface. Conversion varnish becomes it.

Most cabinet companies spray a coat of enamel over your existing doors. It looks right for about two years, then it chips at the edges where hands actually touch it.

Conversion varnish cures through a chemical reaction rather than by drying. The finish hardens into the wood instead of resting on top of it — which is why cabinet manufacturers use it and why a WoodTryst kitchen still looks new after a decade of real cooking.

  • 01Chemically catalyzed cure, not air-dried enamel
  • 02Holds up to heat, steam and household cleaners
  • 03Consistent sheen across doors, frames and new builds
  • 04Sprayed in controlled conditions, not brushed on site

"My wife and I hired Brad to redo our pantry and laundry room. We are more than pleased with the work and we have started redoing our kitchen as a result. Brad takes pride in his work and has made the process smooth for us. He works to limit disruption to us throughout the process. Highly recommend him."

Sara Seiberling · Google Review
★★★★★
"He is a brilliant craftsman, with a strong work ethic, attention to details, and is absolutely trustworthy and honest — there are very few people we would let just walk into our house when the doors are not locked. Brad is one of those few. He absolutely ranks at the top of all the subcontractors we had working in our home."

Where we work

Serving the Memphis area

Most of our work is in homes built between the mid-nineties and the early 2000s — solid construction with dated finishes, which is exactly where a transformation returns the most.
